Picture result/In and around Valentine's Day!

14 February 2008

Yes the frivolities are over and the girl in the photo is indeed Keeley Hawes, star of many a top BBC production and the current hit series Ashes to Ashes, which is the sequel to the hugely successful Life on Mars.

Barry Williams was in there faster than a wheeltapper's whippet, and got the correct answer straight away. I thought at that point it was to be too easy, but no I guess it wasn't. Then along popped PW from Deal to get it right also, so well done Paul. We will pick the winner out of a hat, which shouldnt prove too difficult a task, there being only two! Perhaps Jan Tranter, former mayor extraordinaire, might do the honours at the very next social gathering. Many thanks to those who gave it a go.

WIN £20.

Might as well keep the frivolity going for a while longer as some peeeps will be out celebrating the romantic day on saturday night, not wanting a whole night of passion blighting their work performance during mid week..heavens no! But.... to diversify for a bit.

Who is this in the picture? To celebrate this new doverforum being one year old I can offer one

£20

to the person who get's it right. If there are more than one with the right answer we will draw the winner from a hat as the total on offer is only £20. Family members can enter but cannot win the prize.

We will be having a small party in March, probably in the White Horse Inn, to celebrate being one year old and the prize will be presented there. If the winner cannot make the White Horse we will still make sure the £20 gets to them.

A Happy Valentine's Day to one and all !

Ah yes it's that time of the year again....Valentine Cards thundering onto the doormat from the relieved arms of the poor oul postie. Weatherbeaten Florists beating your door down trying to get in with armfuls of floral fragrance. Guys in black vests endeavouring to deliver chocolates through your windswept windows, sometimes with the help of hovering helicopters. Champagne corks a-popping all about you, endangering life and limb as they shoot off hither and tither.... and that's just the fellas!! The girls do even better!

Seriously though, I hope you all have a nice and pleasant Valentine's day. Many of you will be going out to enjoy romantic evening meals in the abundance of delightful establishments in or near Dover. There are some great events on. The restaurants play their part, and many will do well, which is great for both them and us. The whole thing is celebrated again on saturday, so it's a double whammy of a boost for the local restaurant trade. And that's good, as we need to see them thriving for a healthy community life. Oi'll be dragging my old bones out on saturday night so I will.

If anyone wants to leave a message below for their loved ones please do, or indeed a comment in similar vein, all welcome!
