We are delighted once again to include pictures of the recent joint task when the Western Heights Preservation Society and the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership got together to tackle the overgrown scrub in our immediate nature areas here in Dover.
Some 24 volunteers from the WHPS and WCCP spent the day cutting and burning scrub, sycamore and ash trees from the North Lines of the Drop Redoubt on the Western Heights. This is the second joint task of the autumn 2011 and winter 2012 programme with all the guys merrily working together to keep our countryside healthy and beautiful. Everyone worked very hard in cold but bright conditions and got a huge amount of work done.
also ..just in below.. a picture of the volunteers taken at a new venture yesterday cleaning up the area around Whinless Down. Project leader Paul Sampson said..."We had 19 volunteers come and help to remove the ever increasing scrub on this wonderful site.
