Nature Man's 40th Birthday Party!
It was our Nature Man's 40th Birthday Party at the Louis Armstrong Pub on saturday night. Yes indeed, what a foot-tappingly fantastic evening as we all celebrated in fine style Fab Phil Eyden's Fantastic Fortieth, all to the sound of a wailing rocking blues band. What a fab evening. All the doverforum team really enjoyed it, as did everyone else, as Phil is such a good oul stick, the salt of the natural earth, and it's great to see him having a good time. The Louis Armstrong always has a warm welcoming face, so it's eternally very pleasant to be there in the thick of the drinking action. In the midst of all this hullabaloo a fine pint is pulled by Jeanette Harper. I keep running into this girl! She is certainly a bit of an all rounder and pops up everywhere. And now to the food! Yours truly, forever ravenous, was immensely attracted to the food table which had a spread of infinite variety from the hot n spicey to the plain and simple... but all terrific. If only I'd brought a doggy bag!
The Pictures: The top shot shows some of the gathered ravers posing for the inevitable doverforum camera intrusion. Left to right - forumites Colette Boland, Barry Williams, Jan Tranter, note that BarryW has both arms full of wimmin! oooh I say! yes he has scooped up the lovely ladies with both his arms in one fell swoop. Next comes the Birthday Boy himself with a two fisted pint approach to celebrating, yes that's Phil Eyden, then its Phil's good friend Mandy Whall, then Alison...Phil's good natured and expectant sister. All enjoying the occasion.
Left hand pic above is Barry Williams again with a pint in one hand and Colette Boland in the other. Clearly getting into the spirit of the boogey woogey occasion. The pic on the right shows the good ol' boys gathered under the fluttering banners...Phil Eyden the man himself, then the recently crowned Conservative Chairman Nigel Collor, who likes a small glass of something moist now and again, then top motorcyclist Phil West, and bringing up the rear Barry Wadsworth-Smith. Some of the other pictures taken were a bit too bright to use so have settled on the ones above. Hopefully they capture the spirit of the occasion. PB
