This picture was taken right near the Leisure Centre, and I thought it could be step one of the Castle Walk, in alternative to a cable-care; from here the walk takes ten minutes along Castle Hill Road to the Castle.

That's right, Brian! I am trying to promote the Castle Walk, which takes ten minutes from the Leisure centre, which is the proposed area for installing a cable-car. Visitors would prefer the walk, I believe. Have worked out some Castle routes, including Castle Street. Hubert Pasage and Castle Hill Road, and also Pencester Gardens, Ashen Tree Lane and Castle Hill Road. Visitors staying in Dover over night could also visit St. Margret's gardens and Temple Ewell, or as I call it. Temple Jewels.

All well and good except for the disabled, Alexander.

Alright, Andy, but then how's about promoting a Castle Walk anyway for the visitors who would like to follow it, and a bus connection for those who would find it difficult? From the Lesure Centre AND from Pencester Gardens to the Castle.
Would this be an idea. I wonder if it would work out cheaper than a cabl-car, as no-one has yet mentioned what it would cost to make one. Do you have an idea?

Lovely photo, I remember St James' well.

Another picture captured, here at Hubert Passage, where we have a window to nature!
I prefer NOT to look at Huberts Passage thank you.

You don't have to, Sid, no-one is forcing you to! This is a thread dedicated to a door to nature in Dover, and the Castle Walk. Here we have a window to nature too. The church can be repaired, or it can be left as it is, but in this second case I can admire it in the way it is left to represent itself!

But I'm sure Hubert might object, Alexander!

Not on our wavelength Andy. Never mind.

Who are you promoting the idea of a Castle Walk with and to who ?
Been nice knowing you :)
Ah! Hubert's Passage. I well remember my first boyfriend extracting the michael from me because I did not understand. At the same time he told me that well-reared young ladies do not wear trousers. I did not understand that, either. I was sooooo young! But, no-one can deny that the St James' area is very pleasant. Shame really that the site of the old garages remains undeveloped, even as just a flat lawn.

Paul aka, I'm promoting the idea of the Castle Walk to Dover, for visitors to reach the Castle in ten minutes from the Leisure Centre as an alternative to a cable car starting at the Leisure Centre! Any visitors coming to Dover would not start there tour at the Leisure Centre anyway, so if they go on foot to that point, they might as well go the extra ten minutes on foot to the Castle. If they go by bus or taxi to the Leisure Centre, then they might as well go by bus or taxi a bit further to the castle!
This here is the promotion of the Walk to the Castle, and in my proposal to the Town Council, and also includes Castle Street and Pencester Gardens.
