    We are VERY LUCKY in the Dover district to have the Deal Walmer and Kingsdown regatta association stewards who steward ALL the local district carnivals at NO cost.

    I say NO COST unless you count supplying the guys with something to eat. A very small price to pay for the work they do.

    The only extra officers we get for carnival day is usually a lead police car, and possibly a couple of special constables.
    We are very lucky at DCAL to have such a good working relationship with the police and stewards.

    I think that answers the point raised about how much it costs to steward and police a carnival
