Accident on A20

  Just had this through from DDC:
  
  
  "Urgent Traffic Information.
  
  Please be aware that a lorry has blown over on the A20 and it is therefore blocked in both directions at Courtwood.
  
  I have it on good authority that it is total chaos in this area and should be avoided at all costs. Operation Stack is about to be set up."
  
  Sounds like somewhere to avaoid if at all possible.

  Thanks Roger for that info. The shipping forecast said earlier that it was a storm force 10 out there. Dangerous situation affecting all traffic.

  op stack came on a 10 00 am this morning.allso choas up aycliffe with a 20 traffic trying to get to folkestone and beyond.

  just about missed that this mornin but there were a couple of break downs and others losing their sides. not nice and prob a few days of this weather to come :(

  Just had another notice from DDC:
  
  "We have just received a report that the Eastry bypass going towards Dover is backing up as far as the Eythorne turn off. No further details but suspect accident or tree down..."
  
  Looks like (if you can) it'll be better to stay in doors and keep warm and dry.

  police outriders lurking on western hieghts roundabout,one dismouted directing traffic on a very quiet a20 the other two pulled up and having a chat with the first.any one know why they are there.

  surprised that the a20 is quiet, the folkestone road was busy with trucks about half an hour ago.

  All I know is the ambulance service were very busy this morning, 4 of them with blue lights and sirens went past the shop before mid-day.

  The roads were awful all day - a number of people coming to my partners funeral did not get here in time for the service because of the road problems.
