It was a pleasure and a huge honour.

Jean and I were late getting to Blakes as I had a "procedure" at KCH today, but I can honestly say it was an honour and a BIG pleasure to hear and meet Roni and her husband.
Her duets with Ray were an absolute delight.
Bought a CD too, so that will be played many times I'm sure.
Thanks Peter & Kathryn.

What a Woman, at the age of 75, been there, seen it, done it and a hell of a story to tell.
Fascinating.

Nice to see the pictures especially after you gave us a rundown on the lady herself on Friday evening, sorry to have missed her she sure sounded like fun.

Roni - what a bundle of energy. Talking to her on the phone was great fun, she said her husband was her "boy toy" and then explained his inability to dance!! Barmy but brilliant

Sad day for us banjer players, Earl Scruggs who started it all has died at the age of 88.
He was Roni's inspiration and she got to meet him first when she was a teenager, and played on a couple of tracks on the very first bluegrass dedicated to his style LP in 1957 -

The Mighty Cowpats are playing at The Archer, Whitfield on Easter Monday afternoon, I just might play a couple of tunes in his honour if they'll let me (nothing like working a free plug into a thread

)

Thanks Howard, I didn't realise Peter had sneaked a quick play when I was at Blake's
With Saddam and Earl gone I'll have moved up two places in the list of all time banjo greats, about number 73637298 now!
