mr newsam has sent us this photo of a camera shy great crested grebe seen in the harbour, adding that red kites are seen regularly over the lydden nature reserve and the a20 near barham crematorium.

here we have a female white wagtail - part of a breeding pair at the hoe and ian points out that this is the first documented occurrence in kent since 1981.
