  apparently 28000 households have licences for the above.
  
  i never realised so many sets had survived the years.

  If I still watched TV Howard, it would be a B & W licence. The best programmes were black and white. Perhaps there are some about like me?

  Colour didn't do much for the Black and White Minstrels though, try airing that today! Mind you it made Pot Black watchable.

  Great Bern. I prefer Radio. Radio three if any. No DJ`s waffling and talking stupid, no silly phone in`s, and no news rammed down your throat every half hour. Radio 2 sometimes. Above all though, it`s the CD player for me, (or the computer of course).

  When I was driving to london every day I used to listen to Alex Lester R2 from 4am in the car - he made me laugh out loud!! I get the podcassts now if I am up too late to listen (not that that happens often!)

  Me, I'm a Radio 4 man.... when it comes to radio that is.
  
  Someone mentioned the blind. I understand that there are some kind of special arrangements for the blind and a B&W licence may well be the compromise. Perhaps someone can confirm that or not...

  Radio 4 is the best! My digital radio (get me!) is tuned permanently to radio 4, then 3, then 7, then 2. Fabbo! I wouldn't miss TV at all!

  the little tv i watch is either a sporting event, sometimes a comedy, usually newsnight.
  
  i listen sometimes to radio 4, but it is not yet in colour where i am.

  too many channels fighting over ever decreasing revenue, little left over for improving the quality of output.
