I agree Alexander, what more can the man do ? Many on here would have him hung, drawn and quartered.
Is that word one that can be used on a supposedly family-friendly Forum Alexander ?

In my humble opinion almost everyone concerned, including Bobs supporters, have pinged themselves so far over the top they must need oxygen.
Schadenfreude sums it up beautifully, thank you.

Reality check- if Bob had been convicted of drunk driving he would not have lost his job nor felt obliged to resign his seat. Which is the worse crime - drunk driving or calling a bunch of criminals jungle bunnies?

Roger, I think it's a trap. If Bob is not expelled by the local Tory Party, the next phase will be to damn the local Tory branch as racist.
If he is expelled, the Tory Party locally might lose supporters, and votes, as people will realise that for one unfortunate word, your career is over, and you could potentially end up in financial bankruptcy and even on the street, and eventually claiming benefits.
The chances of finding another job once stigmatisd and sacked as a racist, would be slim, as anyone employing that person would be immediately persecuted, on the grounds of the deleted comment and the apology that wasn't accepted.
People will be afraid.
That's how it starts, Roger! 1984. Been Saying it for a long time.
My Dad did 22 years in the Army, He was Sergeant Major, and was offered to stay on for another 5 years. But he decided to move to Dover, and so got a course in London in accountancy to help him enter Civy Street.
The course was in the evenings, and it was in Winter, and dark early. One night, on the way to the station in London to return home, he got attacked by 2 black women in the middle of London. He defended himself, but they got his wallet with 40 quid.
He suffered from angina from young, and had already suffered a heartt attack, so he couldn't do more to defend himself than so much.
He reported it to the Police in London, and was shocked when they asked him: "What were you doing out on the street at night?"
Must have been PC Correctness who was on duty that night!
My Dad had seen active combat in Malaysia, and received a medal for it.
He began telling us that this Country was ruined, and emigrated to Australia. My brother went with him, I was supposed to follow, but anyway I made my way back to Britain.
I know who I am going to vote for at the next G.E.

It's like the saying about "Evil triumphs, when good men do nothing".
The evil (to my mind) PC/anti-racist people who have condemned Bob - on here and in the local paper, for making an off-the-cuff remark, have labelled him with a stigma that seems to be worse than murderer, mugger or paedophile.
He made an off-the-cuff remark and has apologised; he's lost his job and is now labelled a racist for ever - when does he stop paying ?
Talk about a witch-hunt - and it is being done with eyes wide open and we can't/won't see the wrong that being done by these people, who are changing forever the way we think and speak.
I will be very disppointed if Bob is thrown out by the local Conservative Party, so disappointed in fact, that I will be ashamed of them and not want to be a member.
The word "jungle" (not even jungle-bunny) has been hoisted like a banner carried by the hate-filled Muslims in London yesterday and it must cease.
Real racism is evil and must be stopped, this is nothing to do with that, doesn't even get on the ladder.

This thread is like Salmon fishing.........When you land one it`s wonderfull.

There is now no doubt that Bob must resign both his seat and his party membership because of the hue and cry raised by the press.
If you are reading, Bob, I urge you to do the decent thing ASAP in order to lance this boil.

Peter.
Had Bob called the looters a bunch b-stards, morons, misfits or many more expletives, none of this would be occurring, right or wrong, he chose the wrong wording.

Re #72, "resign his seat and party membership because of the hue and cry raised by the press" you really do not feel that Bob Frost contributed to his own downfall then I take it?

Of course he did. What he said was not properly thought out and the same sentiment could have been expressed without using the words jungle and bunnies in the same sentence.
He should now resign to spare his colleagues any more grief and to deprive the PC brigade of further sport.

I understand about trying to deprive the PC brigade of further ammunition, but I don't think he should resign or be forced out.
I'm sorry you were offended Jan, but there is a saying about Evil triumphs when good people do nothing; it's not a case of just having a different view or opinion, but knowingly helping to change society in a way that I think is unhealthy.
Bob's comment wasn't racist, just a throw-away comment about the rioters.
I have been consistent in my view and postings and am saddened by people I thought were level headed and so will now bow out.
