Tory MP Caroline Nokes, who aimed to attract Christian voters at the General Election, has been caught cheating on her husband with a younger man.
Earlier this year Mrs Nokes was one of the parliamentary candidates who signed a pledge to "respect, uphold and protect the right of Christians to hold and express Christian beliefs and act according to Christian conscience."
A clause on marriage in the declaration says: "We pledge to support marriage - the lifelong covenantal union of one man and one woman as husband and wife. We believe it is divinely ordained, the only context for sexual intercourse."
Perhaps Mrs Nokes should have read the declaration a little more carefully

Howard, your remarks make politics look more interesting.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

I agree Jimmy, her knicker elastic is a private matter for her, her husband and her concience.

nice try barry, the issue is one of hypocricy as you well know.
she tells us what is the right way and does the opposite.
is the new honest way that you speak of?

The real hypocrisy is that she was having this affair when she signed that declaration, as it has apparently been going on for over 2 years

While loving someone deeply gives you courage" - Laozi

What a nation of prudes we are! People tend to have affairs for a variety of complex reasons. Sometimes they're just red-blooded individuals who love sex. I've always struggled to understand why this makes them bad people or unfit to do a certain job? So she screwed a bloke. Labour screwed this entire country. Which is worse?
Seconded!!! No-one is perfect and it is foolish to expect them to be!

and now its the condems turn to screw the whole nation.
alls fair in love and war.
I agree Rick/Bern, but surely the point is she signed a declaration propounding a different type of behaviour, and that is what makes this so bad. She should resign forthwith, or be sacked.
If she hadn't signed a declaration I would think differently.

seems simple enough to me, she told us how we should behave, then does the complete opposite.

If she had not signed the declaration and taken the Holier than thou stance it would be different, but she did and that is where the problem lays, she is a hypocrite and a liar therefore unfit for purpose.
Well MRP, she is clearly fit for one type of purpose!

The scarlett lady or should I say 'Blue' lady in question often quotes other fellow Tory MP's who allegedly claimed that she was " far too pretty for politics". Pretty maybe but smart ...No.
