Connaught park and its renaissance

This morning in sunny but cold Connaught Park, BarryWS, Cllr Pat Sherratt & the lovely Karine at work, missed a bit there Karine
All ten benches are now complete, the three remaining are now drying & will be in the park very soon.
Two more volunteers, Rodney & Liz Dimech of Castle Forum arrived this morning to start the planting. Alas plants not arrived yet but we will be full steam ahead with that early next week

- 11 December 2013 12:05255095In record time our stalwart group of volunteers finished the Spring planting & all in a day. They prepared the beds first & foremost & got to work, like magic it was done!
A Huge Thanks to the team, Pat Sherratt, Rodney Dimech & Barry WS & DDC's Darran Solley for collecting & supplying the plants

- 27 June 2014 16:48268696Yes Howard, we have been hard at work in Connaught Park recently planting as you say the 'Summer Flowers' so the park is now blooming again, thanks for the photos above Howard. It is looking quite lovely, myself & the volunteers worked extremely hard under the hot sun but rather that than in the rain. Lots of people have admired the lovely flowers and thanked us for making it look so pretty again.
Many thanks to DDC for supplying us with the beautiful plants, the park keeper Big Al for helping to transport the plants down from the yard and the constant ongoing watering, my brilliant volunteers (you all know who you are) & thank you to you guys for the lovely comments above, much appreciated. The work goes on, so anyone interested in volunteering please email me at barco1@btinternet.com.
It's good to see lots of people making use of the grass courts now up and running again & the hard courts too, I guess they have the Wimbledon bug
