That well known rebel, hellraiser and close friend of the late James Dean died today from prostrate cancer. He will be best remembered for his roles in films like Gunfight at OK Coral,Easy Rider and Apocalypse Now.
A true giant of an actor who gave his all and took his roles so seriously it nearly killed him a long long time ago.

Must confess to never having heard of him Marek, though I`ve seen Gunfight at the OK Coral many times. I found on the net that he was a top supporting actor in it, but can`t place him. A bit sad that it`s usually the big names that get remembered more. Anyway, would be interested to know which part he played in that classic western.

Thanks for that Marek. Seeing Burt Lancaster is no longer with us, in a sinister way, the Clanton`s have outlived the Earp`s?

Fine actor, my first memories of him was in the TV series Gunsmoke, where his character used to call the Sheriff "Mr Dillon" in a southern drawl. RIP Dennis.
Mad as a box of frogs, charming, and will be much missed.

One of the greats, if only for Easy Rider. RIP Dennis Hopper.
True friends stab you in the front.
MRP, I'm sure you know that was Denis Weaver!
Hopper was a terrific actor but. death comes to us all.

This is a loss. I've admired Dennis Hopper for years, and to this day no actor alive has ever topped his outstanding performance as Frank in David Lynch's Blue Velvet. His study of human evil and depravity in this role remains a benchmark in acting brilliance. He was brilliant in Easy Rider, hugely entertaining in Romero's Land of the Dead, and he was the only good thing in the terrible Waterworld. He leaves an impressive body of work.
I'd second that!
