Ray
I feel you have Sumner him up well ...Just on the £350,000 I asked him the question on accountability of such a large amount of money , bearing in mind the town councils budget is small.
At the time he said it is totally accountable and full reports each month
.within a week it was a charity (and he would have known) and the taxpayers money was lost forever

Someone's started a petition:
https://www.change.org/p/dovernhplanning-doverdc-envagency-tell-dover-council-to-protect-slow-worm-habitat?utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=custom_url&recruited_by_id=1e803c80-dfbc-012f-044d-4040aa777426
All the best to them but I honestly can't see how this will change anything. They've already decided to deny that this is a thing, even though it definitely is a thing.
Have lived near this patch of land for over fifty years. Can confirm it is home to slow-worms, snakes and lizards. Well, it was when I was a kid.

On the basis that the number of signatures are more than the population of Dover (currently 41000+) they should notice!

Seems to have stopped at 45,280 signatures, which considering Dover is a small town, is quite a large number! Anyone know what has happened to it? The site is still up for sale at £2 million.

From one end of the road to the other.
Given the height of the scaffolding over the recently fire damaged property at the bottom, I find myself wondering if they are intending on building up and adding another storey to the building.

Do you need permission these days for a loft conversion? Or an extra floor?
The owners are already in the property letting game. My (possibly paranoid) concern is, that when (God forbid) the current occupier ceases to live there, it'll end up becoming yet another Barton Road HMO. There's not enough room for everyones cars already!

In a more recent development...
Has anyone found a set of keys in the vicinity this evening?
Asking for a friend.
