always best to check first if a subject has been raised, the search facility works well. some topics such as the town team, bingo and football have so many threads that the message gets lost.

big game tomorrow as league leaders salisbury visit the theatre of dreams up at crabble, the expected win would see the whites enter the play off positions.

Dover were outplayed by a well organised Salisbury side.
Salisbury were up for the 3 points, winning most balls.
You can see why they sit at the top of the table.
Dover did pull one back in the last few minutes but a 3-1 defeat at home is not looking good for Dover or the manager.
Whilst it's to early to say you write Dover off, they do have to get in gear at home as these results are costly and seeing bromley won again today in f a cup(who beat dover in last round at crabble) the money being lost gate today 813
many leaving 15 minutes from the end when dover 3 down
Although there were a few glimmers of hope with near misses by dover in the last 10 minutes
dover were again totaly outplayed on there own turf!!!
Fan's already calling for the head of forster(dover manager)
chair of club has some hard decisions does he stick with the manager in the hope he get's dover into the play off's
(even though it was expected dover would get the automatic play off spot)
or does he move in early??

went past about half 12 and stewards were already on duty, a coach tried to enter was turned back and caused all sorts of problems to traffic in both directions.
there was much weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth from irate motorists.

kieth, the differance is that the rugger is free to watch and the footy is not,and apart from that the rugby club have a decent well stocked bar.

Howard the coach may have had nothing to do with rugby or the football if it turned up at half twelve. The coach for rugby turned up first around 1250 and was assisted into the rugby area by me as it is difficult to get through the inside gate.and the football coach which was a small one (30 seat's) turned up just after 1pm. It tried to get in to go up the slope which it can not do and it was turned round to park in the lay over area outside the gates that took all of two or three minutes.
Rugby might be free but sadly never gets the crowds Dover Football get. As for the football only 813, well Keith a lot of non league clubs would like 813 just ask Truro. Trouble Dover has is if we do not start playing better at home and winning the fickle supporters will not be there.
Dover have good players with a lot of league experience but they play like 11 individuals and not a team, There are no wide men, players who want to get down the wings and it is a lot of up the middle stuff. I keep saying it will come but when is the
problem. How much time will the Directors give for the manager to get it right is anyone's guess. Certainly it was not good yesterday.

i should have taken a picture of the coach, i just remember it was from the west country and seemed to have seen better days.
the more i think of it might have been nearer 1 p,m, i went past at 12. 30 and returned about half an hour later,

forgetting the coach, stewards were out from footy organising the cars etc so tha's good.
brian; the foorty has a well stocked bar so no difference there.
with regard to football, like you say harry yesterday was poor, home form appeasrs that way, I'm sure the directors will be watching results closely.
The manager had the excuse last season it was not his team in inherited it when he arrived.
This seasoon he cant use that one, it's his own team, and there were a couple of players who did well for Dover
but on the whole it was a poor performance, and yes crowd was 813 but it has got into the 6/700's
and im sure the break even figure must be much higher.
On yesterdays performance(and others) you can't blame fans for staying away.
Today at Elms vale a fan who goes home and away and is dover through and through and solid, is now questioning if manager should stay

Trouble is to get rid of a Manager in Mid Contract nearly always costs money as you have to buy out his contract. It is easy for the supporters to call for his head not so easy for the Directors who have to way up the financial situation.
I still think a few more weeks will decide.
As for the coach Howard the Rugby coach would have been from Kent and it had to take its time to get through both sets of gates but there was not that much of a problem. The football coach a much smaller one was stopped from going through as.there is no parking for the coach up the top and as I said was turned into the lay area outside but took only a couple of minutes. Not sure it matters that much it is just some people have not a minute to spare but I never saw anyone get uptight anyway.

harry
you did in another thread say, lets wait till first 6 or 7 games before making our minds up
we are passed that now.
Yes your correct it's costly to buy out a manager or player or who ever
but even more costly if dover re mains just a mid table club
something im sure the directors dont want

Good job you were not there Vic you would have choked on your dam Mars Barr.
I said 10 games I think Keith but makes no difference as we have played 11. Jim P will stick with Nicky as he is not one for changing just for the sake of it and it is still only quarter into the season plus we are still in the mix for the play offs.
Cooled down now so I think I can say that things will come at home but it needs the fans to get behind them and not on their backs. I know you can not compare with Man Itd (I am not a fan) but last night they started poorly went two down early in the first half at home and the crowd did not get on their backs, they still chanted for them and they got better & ended up winning.. On Saturday Dover played poorly, went one down and our crowd started booing and chanting " we are supposed to be at home" straight away. Not sure how we get the best out of the team getting on their backs.like our home crowd do.
Away from home we support them from the minute the whistle goes it is completely different, even when they go a gtoal down the support is still there. Why I do not know they are our supporters.
