Is that the one on display in De Bradalei Wharf - just inside the door?

I saw that posted on Facebook. Can't remember the original lady's name. I don't have an account but my grandson tells me and shows me posts about Dover, when he is home from Uni. Sadly, so much of the local heritage is either sold, ignored or literally covered up. I so hope somebody born locally can purchase it and donate it, to the museum , perhaps. It would be utterly sad if yet another little link with the past was lost.

Dover Harbour Board should have donated this to the museum, I just hope it fails to reach its reserve price.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Looking around the newly reopended De Bradelei earlier this week I noticed an open top pick up removing all the craved artefacts . I would hope that as suggested in # 4 that these items are offered to Dover Museum or even the Maritime Museum in Deal ( if appropriate) & not disposed of .
As part of the deliberations on People's Port etc DDC made a strong case for all Heritage items to be transferred & hopefully into a newly formed Trust to secure their local retention.

So a port authority that's pumped 7-digit sums into preserving Cruise Terminal 1 suddenly decides to try to get upto £20k for an artefact on the same listing. Seriously? As a theory it doesn't even fit the auction description. As the good book, or was it Oddball, says - have a little faith baby (and clock the number of pickup trucks).

It appears impossible to ever contact Dover Harbour Board directly.
What is the point of having two Community Directors, on the Board as non-executive directors. Getting paid, if you cannot make contact?
No way should this sort of heritage be sold, and it was only an accident it was found out. There could be more, we just do not know.

Aren't you the leader of Dover District Council or something? Does running the council end up this childish ?
Perhaps the Council should step in and make an offer?

Everyone getting up in arms before looking at facts. The various historic items on display at De Bradlei were restored and owned by RIchard Mahoney of the boat tours, he has give up and selling all his assets such as the figurehead and the pontoon down into the harbour used by his boat. None of it owned by DHB.

Well, that clears up a number of questions, thank you. Such a shame a harmless discussion causes personal comments though.

A council leader who's a human being at weekends? Works for me; play some music really loud, be calm and put on the DVD.

#14 & #17 informative posts but posting under a pseudonym means they lack credibility.
If we all have the town's best interest at heart why hide behind a silly name?
