Some Dover photos past:
Bob Hollingsbee sitting on damaged sea-front at St Margaret's Bay, c.1947-8, photo taken by the late Mr Stan Wells.

usually expect to see bob behind a camera than in front of it. i suspect the late mr wells was a professional photographer going by the quality.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

If I have got my thinking head on ,the army used the houses down in the bay for training.

Howard "the late Mr Wells" (later than the photo probably) became the Editor of the Dov Exp.for a brief period.
He was the sports editor, NOT the photographer.
It was indeed a superb photo.
The army did use the properties for practise in case of an invasion.
