ah that old chestnut.one rule for us another for them typical pc.
I heard Suffolk Police were out actively discouraging flag type stuff in case it offended non-English people living here. I personally think it's a FB wind-up, but if it isn't, I'll be getting a big flag for my car and my daughters car to shove it in their faces!!!
Just finished reading the life story of King Edward III, the man who took St George as our patron saint, stuffed the Frogs umpteen times, did more for the common man than any king previously, and many since. Changed our battle colours to those we now recognise as the Flag of St George. An all round good bloke and great King.
So, if the flag of St George was good enough for our greatest king, it's damn well good enough for me.
Agrees with you both . I think they may be refering to the Scots that might be upset they are not there lol .

Its a wind up.
its not as bad as anyone is saying on facebook... just gives anyone an opportunity to kick off as normal..
Marek, what I'd like to know is if they object to the sign of the cross so much what do illiterate unemployed Mohammedans use when they 'sign on'.

Hold on! it is most certainly NOT because of the Scots! They have never said they are offended by English flags, the ones who might, and I state might, be offended, according to some quango, are certainly not the Scots! So let's not turn this one into a dispute with the scots! That would be too simple!
Also, my room is full of English Flags and Union Jacks, and always will be! The Union Jack includes the great Flag of the Scots too!

I remember this one comong up on the forum a few years back and I'll say the same now as I did then.
I've been flying the Union flag and the St George flag at the bottom of my garden for all to see along Barton path for many years now, IT WILL NOT CHANGE.
If any one knocks on my door and tells me to take it down it could be a bad day for someone.
What the hell is wrong with people.

I am sure that this is a wind-up but what does it say about this country that people take this kind of thing seriously..
The fact is that there are idiots who do think that way
ZZZZZZZ. Does anyone really care ? no. Are England really in with a chance of winning? no. Is this just a fairy tale ? yes.

It was the Labour Govt back in 2007 that scrapped the protocol that covered the flying of flags. Before that one could only fly a Union Flag from a vertical pole now one can hang them from windows or from cars, bikes etc.
In the past it was considered that if one flew a national or a St George's flag that one was a member of the NF.

You may larf (or not )
I think you should be able to put out any country flag if thats your desire.
Although Ireland didnt reach finals my mum who is irish will often still put her fag out
and why not be proud of being Irish.
I know she is.

Are England really in with a chance of winning? We more than likely will not win it but we do have a chance, if we do get to the final the whole Country will be glued to their TV's including you. I remember when we did it in 1966 and the impact that had, generations of fans since then have dreamt of winning it again, not a fairy tale but it is a dream.
Um sadly just a dream that will never happen again as the England players are spoilt rotten these days unlike the 1966 players worked hard because they loved the game and not just doing it for the next contract for the glossy mags or the newest wag.
I don't think they like flags whatsoever. All you ever see them doing on the news is burning them. So, maybe flags in the UK have become a bit of a fire hazard these days given who we multi our culture with these days?
