And once again the main losers will not be those at whom the protest is directed, but the honest and hard-working business people of Dover.
These XR people just don’t give a monkey’s about anyone else. B4574rds.

The other loser is of course the environment with diesel engines and refrigeration units ticking over while trucks go nowhere.

Oh well, look on the bright side - think of all the environmentally-friendly yachts that will be coming to the marina!

Just been down on the bus from Maxton mate and there were no problems at all as far as I could see. You watching footy? Curry on Tuesday at the Calcutta Port?

The planned massed protest has been a disaster. The organisers didn't factor in that your average protester would shudder at the thought of visiting Dover.

""We are actually directing this (protest) at the government, because we want them to start talking about this rather than ignoring it and actually start a process of taking action so we can improve our own agricultural resillience.
"We are not actually directing this at ordinary people although it may feel that way because obviously we are causing disruption, but we feel that we don't really have any choice."
What a load of tosh! Go up to Westminster then, rather than have a little jolly in Dover on a nice sunny day.

I think a lot of them head for Saint Tropez at this time of year, weather still good and the crowds have gone! They'll be back though for a few weeks before the ski season starts.

I got castigated on FB for calling this protest group a bunch of idiots, nothing I have read about them or their protest has changed my mind.
I wonder how many of those who ticked me off and thought the protest was an ok thing to do actually went and joined in.

I guess the octogenarians and even the wheelchair bound nonagenarian who was arrested count as either idiots or St.Tropez loving hypocrites in your estimation. I applaud them for standing up for something they believe in and that will have its greatest effect on those who come after us.
It's so much easier to rely on emotive language and simple solutions, isn't it?

Well said, Ray. That degree of historical amnesia is frightening, inexcusable and disrespectful to the ancestors upon whose broken heads and backs our relatively leisured living stands.
