Its very simple Tom, if you spend less or give less away, you save money.

A limit on our already excessive and unaffordable benefits is not a tax and it is absurd of the BBC and other left wing fellow travellers to suggest it is by calling it a 'bedroom tax'.

i love that term "left wing fellow travellers" conjures up a bedsit in the sixties with posters of che guevara on the wall and young blokes with long hair smoking dope.

Barry I think the description you need is "spare room subsidy". Describes it perfectly.

this plan is just another sad effort from a discredited government to hammer those who are most vulnerable.

Yes indeed there is much fun to be had from our respective eyries, but what is to be the result that proves this exercise to have been worthwhile?
What's your neat phrase for this Watty?

Ever since the pastry tax came in, I rarely buy a pastry.
It BACKFIRED.
It's cheaper to buy 1 kg of flour at 45p and make your own pastries.
If you plant an apple tree and a pear tree, you can also have free access to fruit as pastry filling.
Plant a plum tree too, and learn to make conserve, and you'll have pastries all year round, simples!

This information could come in handy in lieu of an economic crash: you could become self-sufficient, feed yourself and reduce your taxes. The name of the game is go green and DIY.
