in the space of about 5 minutes in town this morning i encountered alec, brian, andy and jeanette.
everyone except alec looking on tip top form and enjoying the glorious weather, alec is going in for a hip replacement in a few days, nothing seems to get him down though.
he told me an interesting tale about our grocers up at whitfield, yesterday his wife had a funny turn in the shop and fainted.
the shop could not have done enought to help her taking her straight to the pharmacy.
once she came round they got all her details and rang around all the right people to keep them informed.
well done tesco, not often they get a good press on here.

Good to see you, Howard! Lovely warm sunshine, Market Square busy......all well with the world.
So, Brian Dixon spotted going into First Choice.......off for a dirty weekend somewhere, Brian? And who's the lucky lady/fella/dog/cat (delete as applicable!)

I am off away to a conference for Thursday/Friday and popped into the town to get my suit dry cleaned at the last minute this morning.
Didn't see any forum members but there were lots of attractive ladies around, attractive that is until they got close and ugly tatoos and piercings came into view.
Call me old fashioned but why on earth do so many these days disfigure themselves like this. It is simply horrible and makes me almost wish for colder weather to hide them....

I was around town/sea front most of morning/lunchtime, the only regular I saw was the M&S security man. A coach load of Welsh in town. No forumite`s till I got to the White Horse.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
It's very annoying when one is a forumite who does not know what the rest of you look like. Can't we wear badges? Or funny hats? Or special uniforms?

And if you want to know what I look like, Diana, there's a truly awful photo of me in the Dover Express today.

Nice to have met John Heron and wife Penny in the garden of the White Horse early this afternoon, after Jeanette pointed him out. Great meeting you both, and everytime I meet other forumite`s, they always seem to have the same positive views relating to what we`ve got here now, and how much room for improvement there is, while at the same time, someone always seem`s to throw a spanner in the works if it look`s like being too successful. Nice to have met you both John. (And how many people in Dover know about that cosy little secret garden?).

You'd be amazed who you'll find in my backyard Howard! I'm sure I've probably worded that a bit wrong so I'll await the comments now!!
Nice to see you too yesterday too Howard. I often see you from afar hot-footing it to catch your bus but I'm never fast enough to catch you up!
I know a million ways to always pick the wrong thing to say
He sees you coming Jeanette and speeds up to get away. Our Howard is very shy and retiring you know.

Thanks Howard for the Tesco plug, the staff and Pharmacy staff were excellent in looking after my wife. It turns out that she had a suspected mini-stroke but appears to be alright now, she was told to take things eay by her doctor and he has put her on aspirin.
It was good to meet you again and also Brian Dixon for the first time. After coming out of the library I bumped into Sue who was rushing off home to watch the match.
I am having my hip op. on Saturday so won't be down the town for a while. I was told that I would only be three days in hospital, I just hope that every thing goes to plan so that I can throw my damn crutch away.
