A bite from a false widow is less severe than a bee or wasp sting. Shock horror there were 2 wasps in my kitchen the other day, I must phone Simon Finlay immediately.

Good piece of advice offered to me : Now that many people are using log stores, the perfect place for hornets and spiders to over winter, make sure you have a good thick pair of gardening gloves on when filling your log baskets ready to bring indoors.

I've got one hanging outside my kitchen window. He comes out from under the tiles at dusk. Don't see the harm really. He's not going to kill me.
