Harry - if you read what I said I am talking about the trend, the Tory vote is trending up and 24 hours poll to vote can make a difference. I also explained other factors in that. CCHQ statement says they are confident of a small overall majority and, well, lets just say I am happy from where I sit at moment - back to the task!!!

Barry I think you may well be right in what you said, I was just making note of the figures in the chart and how I saw it, I was not having a go.
Vic mate they say "Who dares wins" but I have this sneaking feeling it might not be in this case, still remember U can always KIP in the football Buggy..

Harry - I did not think you was having a go at all, just that I had not explained my thinking well enough.

You know my father always voted Labour but in his later years went to the Polling booth with a lift by the Conservatives. I asked him why he did that and he said "You never take from your own son, make the other buggers pay"

Still he was a Scotsman.
Not sure he would have been proud of me today.

Interesting to look at Barry's chart with the benefit of hindsight......it got the Tories just about on the nail, but Labour and Lib Dem were both miles out. Not quite the oracle Barry said it was!

I didn t suggest it was an 'oracle' Andy, just an interesting seat calculation. yes the Conservative seats and polling figures were rigth on the nail but the split between the other two was well out on the day. Clearly a lot of people who thought of supporting the Libdems swung back to Labour.

not enough for gordon though, he must be rubbing his hands at the moment, talks between nick and dave are destined to break down.
proportional representation is integral to the yellow philosophy, they are a party run by members only.
no businesses or unions or other vested interests involved.
many of the members will be shocked by nick even talking to david, let alone swallowing that bit about all party committee reform.

i must admit that we have been coned here, with thousands of people wernt able to vote because of goverment jobs worthys.
Brian, they had 15 hours to vote. That stupid woman who was constantly on our screens even admitted going to the Polling Station at 7pm and 8pm and deciding not to queue, but to go back at 9:15!! Why didn't she queue at 7pm?
Errors were made, but Joe Public certainly didn't help themselves.

i wonder how many of those people could have voted at the beginning of the day, lunch time or early evening?
i always cast my vote first thing, so it is out of the way.

There has to be a cut off point, surely 15 hours should be time enough to get there and vote. Those that missed out should apply for a postal vote next time.

Thankfully I managed to vote but it was a mad dash. I leave the house for work before the polling stations open, managed to get home just after 9:30 dropped my stuff off and dashed round to the polling station getting there about 9:45.

ross
bearing in mind your work schedule and distances travelled, would it be better next time to apply for a postal vote?

Possibly Howard, but I like to go to the polling station
