13:2340672All the talk about on the radio about Flybe expecting to announce that they are going to start flights from Manston to Edinburgh.
Looked on their website and you can book from 25th May to Edinburgh and 2 other locations!
Will be great to have this on our doorstep and postponed going there this year because all of the hassle of getting through Gatwick, long drives or train changes
Been nice knowing you :)

13:3840673hurrah!!! I used Manston to go to the Edinburgh Live8 gigs - easy peasy and so convenient, and I think we were nearly thellast to use it. It's good to hear the service is back.

14:2540678Dublin is a great flight from Manston - I am genuinely excited by this news!!
I have bored you before about this, but I recall that, when we went to Edinburgh (son and self) we set off from home (near Connaught Park in Dover) at the same time as my old man, who was catching the train to London. We left the house at the same time, and son and self were in edinburgh in our hotel unpacking before the old man got to London. You've got to love the railways.......................

16:3840687Good bit of news there Paul so well done bringing us that, always like a bit o' good news. I remember the time you flew to Dublin from there before as you let us know at the time. I thought to myself thats something I could use.
Good tale there Bern re flying to Edinburgh. It would be great to see Manston taking off as it were. There have been several initiatives there but none flew for long. I would imagine if an airline didnt overstretch its remit as the Irish one did (cant remember their name for the moment) it could make the enterprise pay. All travel companies appear to suffer greatly from financial volatility. Yes another run to Nice or somewhere like that would go down a treat Im sure...so the very best of luck to this new venture. There is still some sign of commercial life in East Kent.

18:0340694EU Jet was the other company - it must have taken on about 20 different routes from the outset and bankrupted itself
I guess it needs a bit of the LD Lines factor.... dip into things to get a feel to see if they will work....
Been nice knowing you :)

19:4240700Eu Jet, Bless them, if you remember they left my family and myself, stranded in Amsterdam when they went for a Burton. I wish Flybe all the best, it was great to pop over to Dublin without all the hassle

20:2040708I really do hope this is a success, not only saving agro at the main airports, but done properly, it could be very good for East Kent too.
Maybe some money to advertise/market/promote Dover in some local Edinburgh papers.
We used to have timeshare in Edinburgh and it was fantastic, a great city and the rest of Scotland isn't that far away.
Good Luck FlyBe

01:0640939Thanks everyone.A forum party in Jersey not a bad idea...give me some time to work out a special weekend fly and bed deal with one of the local hotels.
As for my illness ...I'm not saying it was bad but Natascha bought me a parrot and a crutch as she thought the ol' leg was going walkies without me...aye shiver me timbers...
