that is what i have been saying for ages now phil.
the area is full of small houses with large families, it is amazing that we have so little vandalism and grafiiti here.
other parts of dover(with more open space) have superb community centres, where single parents, elderly people and others have a bolthole to escape to.
our community centre is let out 4 and half days a week to a profit making organisation, leaving an afternoon for the more senior citizens to have a game of bingo, cup of tea and a chat,

Lets be clear, all i did was correct Rogers innaccurate post.
I recall the P/F putting forward a number of sites.
1; CLOSE to vale view school
2 clarendon area'
3 westmount area
plus many others
so its always been positive and iu don't care who took play area s away or puts them back, its just priory deserves a play area, and all cllrs should be fighting for it.
On the question of the sec I presume she gave a view and like all p/f meetings a debate took place, and a decision taken.
Shiela again has made a reasonable request.
I'm afraId 106 money wont cover the cost,
lets see all the cllrs fighting for a play area in priory soon
Howard is right - there is no need for fandabidozi gizmos and whatsits - most young children, and older ones cometo that, just want some space and a few bits of playground furniture. Let's just do it.

I do not know where you live but if I have my way, Priory will eventually get its play area, working on it.

WELL DONE SHEILA
So we have
4 town cllrs (one sheila supporting)
2 county cllrs
3 District cllrs
who's fighting for a priory play area?

I would hope they all are, especially as they're all wearing the same colour tie now (at least I think they are). So get them all together, along with the PF people, get some funds together and get something done.

My mistake Keith, but it still shouldn't stop them getting together for a project which, to my mind, should be above politics and for the benefit of the local community.

Phil/Howard
Please read my more recent postings, I don't care who took play area away or can put one back, all im asking is, those that have any say in getting a play area for the children of priory area can they please try to achieve it.
Nothing political in that, If every time I disagree with some one its going to be made into a political thing will i be worth posting?
So, as i'm only a pleb, am thankfully not a cllr, have no control over this, I'm just requesting of those that can help, would they please.
Plebs United - how's that for a new political party?!

Scuse me for going back to the original posting but PaulB I have just read your posting and I cannot believe you have never been to Connaught Park. it is my absolute favourite place in Dover and thats saying something as I have lots of favourite places. Even my puppy agrees with me, she seems to have an extra spring in her step when we go there.
You really don't know what you're missing. Next time there's a sunny evening, about 7-8pm or so go there and watch the sunset beginning - absolutely beautiful!
I might see you there! (But don't link this up with the Good Woman wanted thread, ha ha!)

do we really want paul and his motorised bicycle carving up the turf and disturbing the peace and tranquility of connaught park?
he may well bring phil along too.!!

Perish the thought! I'm sure there are enough motorised reprobates prepared to destroy our wonderful park without PaulB or myself needing to join the fray. Some of us are far more civilised.
If you come across any of these nasty people tearing up the park then a walking stick or umbrella strategically placed into the front wheel as they pass by will work wonders - but not for your walking stick or umbrella!
