Walking my beagle this morning in the wind , rain & dark, I encountered a fox walking along the path 20 yds ahead. He looked at me , the beagle looked at him & they both went their way undistracted. The fox crossed the road at his ambling pace looking around to see what we were up to & nonchalantly wandered into the Deal Fire Station forecourt. My beagle just carried on , totally disinterested. So much for the great sniffing hunting dog.
By the way he had a barking fit at a black labrador later.
Ah thats a good one PaulW. There is no accounting for nature and after a zillion light years getting the beagle to chase the fox all has been reversed by modern political thinking. Even said cuddly dog is aware of it. Indeed...so much for stereotypes.
My neighbours cat and a fox had an encounter outside our garage recently (we were just pulling in and I grabbed a camera.) I think the fox was more scared of the cat!
the cat has a back problem (he has a hump) so he always looks like that. The fox is a regular around here, he has lost an eye (as you can just make out.)
Last night a vixen was barking like mad and Fifi just ran to the window calmly ignoring her but went beserk when a strange cat entered the garden. Jeane is the cat called Quasimodo?
