Yes its official Im now officially Vice Chairman of Dover Districy Council.A long time to wait for this honour but its my turn to uphold the tradition this post holds .
A bit different to the old days no press ,no relatives or friend just an ordinary business meeting which went on until gone 10.00pm
I shall have to put aside my politically ambitions for the forthcoming year .I have to be impartial at all times so you will not see any postings from here on .
I cant wait to wear my new hat .Black with white feathers . .

Congratualtions Sue heard this info through the grapevine but no sadly there is no publicity about it. Nobody officially let me know for example... so without somebody letting somebody know the news gets lost. But I put the 'educated rumour' on the frontpage.
Sad to hear your postings will be limited or non existent, but hopefully not, hopefully you can comment on general things.
I'll have to get a picture of you in your new hat!!

Enjoy the job Sue - it is an honour, but a "zip-your-mouth" one too.
PaulB - we couldn't mention it before, in case someone else got nominated and voted and that wouldn't do would it ?
Good Luck Sue.
Roger
Strange posting Roger.

Well done Sue,actually Sid Roger's posting isn't that strange, and was even mentioned by Paul Watkins and the Labour Group without sounding political or saying anything bad about Sue,as we are quite good friends,it may be seen that Sue was offered promotion to keep her of her leaders back, because she can be a bit outspoken, and of course a chance to wear one of her many hats.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Sue will do an excellent job.
She is community spirited and will be well received in the community. Her community work is well chronicled.
Civic pride should come before politics.
I had no hesitation in nominating her.
We go back a long way.
Well done Sue.

So, can we run a sweepstake to see who can goad our Sue into posting on the Forum?
No contest..................

I'm sure Sue will still read the Forum, just not able to post - at least not on anything controversial.

We couldnt let this grand occasion pass by without including a picture of the lady herself. No hat alas but her hair is very nice and a match for any hat...this was taken quite recently at the David Hannent proposal for inner town development...where she managed to get a few words in

This pic has been on our frontpage of course and many will recognise it, and the lady beside the redoubtable Sue is Mrs Hansell.
