Yes its true! This is them just a few seconds ago, this picture is almost LIVE... theyre just getting warmed up! so, there is a God after all. Some of these craters are so deep along the seafront it is rumoured that the Loch Ness monster has moved into one of them. He issued a press release saying he gets more privacy in Dover as the caverns are so so much deeper here!

12:0865858The trouble is Paul, the potholes in my road which were fixed in just a manner are now in need of redoing already.
A botch-up may provide some relief, but the job needs doing properly in my opinion.

15:5065911Is that right Sid re the redoing already...oh dear. I see they just put some tar macadam down the holes and beat it in with a shovel. They may have had a small roller, I couldnt see.
Unfortunately

...the bad news is they cleared off after an hour and a half so some of our whoppers still remain. Sigh!

16:5065920The annoying thing is, we are paying for this poor service and DDC/Kent Highways appear to be taking no action to improve matters.

08:5865990Ah..hallelujah..the sound of plaintive drilling has reached my earlobes, gazing out of window and what do I see...yes indeed, the pothole fillers are back again. They have returned from whence they came, they didnt abandon us after all as initially feared. They appear to be doing some serious drillin and fillin in the centre of the carriageway.

09:2065997Gross incompetance!!!!! That job should have had a competent surveyor to evaluate what had to be done together with the amount of material required. Those pothole filler`s should be somewhere else today filling pothole`s elsewhere, not returning to what should have been done the day before. Council`s wasting money again and not following up on work being carried out, and joe public here is footing the bill!!!!
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

09:3766001Apologies to any road lobby people looking in here, but what happens on the railway is, most small jobs like the above are only carried out during engineering work on the line, and any contractor`s have to get their particular job done right first time, before the particular stretch of railway line is handed back to Network rail for running train`s again, or they`ll be paying penalties to the various train operating companies. It seems to me though that council`s aren`t too fussy on what outfit they hand a contract to. I well remember about 4 or 5 years ago, coming home from work through the Alkham valley one frosty Sunday morning around 7.30, a non council lorry dropping salt!!! The sun was just up, but what the hell was going on? Maybe they should`have been doing it hour`s earlier, but decided to have a lay in, but drop the salt anyway to fulfill their contract? This isn`t a one off story either.
