what is the maintainve going on at the gateway ?
the scafolding started opposite burlington house and has been up 5 weeks now ? and is speading to the flats facing the sea on the left hand side looking from the sea
will they not do one bit and move the work along ? i can see the whole flats covered up to christmas !!!!!!

Very expensive redecoration Ron...very expensive. They have started that end and are moving through until the spring I believe. No one escapes!

getting ready to put up some festive lights,bob goldfinger and cohearts have put there hands in there pockets to brighten up the harbour area for not the good of dover.

scaffolding seems to take over everywhere nowadays, pity that the building contractors do not start work as soon as the scaffolding has been erected.

I wonder if the redecoration was scheduled before or after it was known the Olympic Torch was coming to Dover.

While on the lawn in front of the Gateway a couple of weeks ago waiting for the Merchant Navy service to start I glanced up at the roof and realised why PaulB's tv reception goes odd from time to time. The aerials point towards Dover Town Relay which isn't digital yet!

Is that right Terry, well I never! Hopefully all will improve next year when we all go digital. Last night as with most nights I get all the French TV channels. TF1, BFM, etc etc If only I could speak the language I would double the amount of TV options at a stroke!
