Some time ago in one of my UKIP post,s I told you about a new warship which was being build for our Royal Navy and construction was done in the UK by our own workers.
Well tonight on C4 from 1930hrs to 2100hrs they done a documentary on this great ship the cost was high £1billion but is fifty years ahead of any warship in the whole world even the USA have said "We will never have a warship like Britain have now got for the next fifty years"
It is the Ultimate Warship and is call "HMS Daring" The Royal Navy is to get six of them they are a Destroyer class ship, this will make Great Britain again one of the most powerfull Navy,s in the world again, and not before time.

Well, let's hope someone doesn't drop a shell down her funnel, 'cos that would be a terrible loss of life and waste of money.

this ship is so well build that it can not be picked up on any radar system in the world once at sea and would take out any shell from the sky before it hit her + no sub could get near her she is the very Ultimate Warship in the whole of the world and it is ours to,it will not be sold off to any other navys even the USA.

The wouldn't fire a shell at it Vic more likely a missile and they are very difficult to detect.

Dave again a missile would not get to this ship before it was stoped nor even miss it that is how good this warship is,far ahead of any warship in the world at this time and still as i said fifty years ahead of its time, and only great britain has it,we are still a great nation.

It does sound great Vic, but like Concorde, the yanks still wouldn`t buy them from us because it hasn`t got made in the U.S.A. on the bottom of it. Regarding the 50 years bit, if that`s what they said they should know better. Technology today is too quick for anyone to predict, including the Americans. Any info on it`s launch date Vic?

The Americans do have comparable projects but the Daring Class are certainly superb ships, pity The Navy will only get 6 platforms instead of the 12 originally planned.
Their missile fire and control system has problems and will not be fully operational until they have been in service for a while. Their main operational role is area air defence so that means the main armament will not be working at first. They do have very good stealth properties with a close-in gun system as a final defence against missiles. They are ships that the Royal Navy will be justly proud of but the lack of platforms, regardless of the capability of each platform, is a concern.

The Americans have already said"They would love to have it,they are the ones who said"It is fifty years ahead of any ship they have in their navy."

You can find out more about this great warship by loging in to "The Royal Navy newest Warship "HMS Daring"It will tell you lots more about it.
like (1) With a prce tag of £605 million, the 150-metre long vessels will be the most powerfil, advanced and deadly warships in the world when they come into service in 2009,as I said there are six of them and two more on order, the second and third ships HMS Dauntless,Diamond ,+the Defender,Dragon, and the Duncan are already being built.. The contract will keep about 3,000 workers employed until the end of the decade. and are being build at the rebirth in the Clydeside shipbuilding yards. The Countess of Wessex launched Daring at a ceremony at the shipyard..
Please log into it yourself and read why they are the most Deadliest warships in the world and yes Great Britain build them.

Well done Colin agreat photo of a great ship.

. Just to add to this you can see the two guns on the deck but the ship does not need them, they were put there just because the Gen/public still like to see a warship look like one so they put the guns on the deck.

Britannia's Trident Fleet - the Ships with the Trident on the Sail - use Dark Fire (an English adaption of Greek Fire) to oppose any contrary warships. With the Red Saint George Cross flying at the Mast, our ships will cross over and take all their colonies! (metaphoric, peaceful, no bloodshed, however in the name of thunderous thrashings!)

Actually Vic it was common opinion in the 70's that guns were superflous and were not included in many frigate/destroyer sized ships including the then latest type 22 'Broadsword' frigates. That theory was proven wrong in the Falklands where the guns were very useful indeed. Guns were then fitted as standard to these ships. I suspect that the demise of the gun remains much exaggerated and no, I do not believe that a gun is included just 'because the public likes to see one', but instead are included as they are important for the kind of low-intensity warefare that these ships can get involved in. Think for a moment, a big 4.5inch barrel pointing at a Somali pirate is a lot more intimidating than a missile unseen in its VL silo, it would make a very satisfying big warning splash alongside their boat too, can't be done with a missile.
Here is a drawing of it.
1 Flight deck to take Lynx or Merlin combat helicopter
2 Navigation radar
3 Long-range radar monitors air and surface threats
4 Communications mast
5 Small-calibre gun
6 Multi-function radar can guide ship's missiles and detect enemy ones
7 Gunfire control system
8 Vertical-launching system for short- and long-range missiles
9 Medium-calibre main gun
10 Bow sonar (under keel)

Well no 2 had a successful launch on Wedsday at Portsmouth docks, on time and within budget ,her name is HMS Dauntless .
Among the battery of state.of-the -art equipment is a new principal Anti- Air Missile System, which can trace and destroy hostile objects as small as a cricket ball travelling at three times the speed of sound. Its range is effective over a radius of several hundred miles.
Her PAAMS air defence missiles are the size of a public phone boxs, weigh two thirds as much as a small car and from launch accelerate to a speed twice that of Concorde in under 10 seconds. There is still more to come on this great British Warship the best in the world, and it was all done when the reds were in power, so it was not all bad for them.
