I was looking at "youngsters" - up to say 14 years; older ones can walk into Town at Pencester or up to Elmsvale. Young kids round the Priory area have no where.

i would have said under 10 myself judging by when i have passed the ones in connaught park and elms vale. the majority seem to be not much more than toddlers with their mum or dad.

I wouldn't argue with that age Howard, certainly not older teenagers.

I have noticed from Google maps, that half of the Charlton Centre (although not the Blockbuster shop) next to the doctors seems to be a separate building.

I suggest that it should be knocked down. A nice piece of town centre land for possible residential development?
(Are Sainsbury's still paying the owners?)
Or at least the owners should be made to repair the forever-leaking roof!

i think you will find the roof has been repaired now karlos, also a planning application has gone in for 2 and 3 bedroomed flats in part of the complex.
not sure what part though.

Think this makes it self explanatory ? Ie the non-Sainsbury bit

If I have understood the plans properly some of those flats look very small, talk about cram them in.

They are just 'apprentice' flats Jan. Learning to be real ones...sometime down the road.

I understood from when I first read those plans, that the vast majority were 1 bed flats/studios, one or two 2 beds, but no 3 beds.
They are making what looks like good use of the available space, but it would be even better use if there were fewer but larger (more bedrooms) flats.

I have no problem with them being 1 bed it is simply the size of them, the rooms look as though they will be like glorified prison cells they are so small.

i had a look at the planning notice outside the charlton centre and am sure it said 2 and 3 bedroomed flats, cannot comment on the size though.
