The Konik ponies make the Western Heights look untidy sometimes with their grazing.

Perhaps Dovorians can chip in to help the poor folk of St. Margaret's restore or replace this sign, or perhaps the latter haven't noticed it:

I hope it is ok to use your picture of the cliff on another group W G S simply to highlight the danger. I will remove if you prefer.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I doubt there's any real danger, JH: the picture is a little tongue-in-cheek, in keeping with the others. That part of the cliff has been like that for as long as I can remember (and that's a very long time indeed: the cliffs were a playground for me), there are well-worn paths across it and, as you can see, vegetation growing in the gap. I'm certain that, given the history of cliff falls in the area, the NT would be wise to any imminent threat. I'm not alone in not wanting to see any more fences in the area: the fewer of those the better. I don't mind the picture being used to show the beauty of the place, but I wouldn't want it to be used to raise any fears.

Has anyone in memory gone off the cliffs in a sudden cliff fall?
Ted here highlight the danger but it seems ok to be close to the edge if you're wanting to take a picture to get yourself in the paper again!

No, but the cliffs are notorious for sudden falls and are also, as the article says, "notorious for fatal falls" - which are a pain to deal with.

Like thousands of others, I've negotiated Striding Edge on Helvellyn and descended Carnedd Dafydd in a thick mist (and skirted a rather large red bull at the bottom: no way was I going back up). But, though I've climbed Snowdon half a dozen times by different routes, I wouldn't try it by Crib Goch: I know my limits and we have to trust that others do too. We'll spoil it for the sensible majority if we organise everything around preventing the stupid or wreckless from doing stupid or wreckless things. As for suicides, well, no fence will stop them.

I've no problem with social distancing. I've been practising for so long now I've got it pretty much perfect. But I've never seen this area so empty of human life and, really, I don't need this much space. Shouldn't people be working their lungs and increasing their fitness levels? After all, there could be trouble ahead...

Combine harvester with ponies.

Odd. I took mine last Thursday, but certain I've seen 6 for a couple of weeks at least.

No, actually 5, but the other was munching grass and wouldn't be herded.

Fair enough, although I note that HSBC doesn't seem to have that problem...

So much for Lloyds spending all that money for 'brand recognition'?
