There have been a few political April Fools - one being a hilarious Labour election poster.
For me the funniest was an advert placed in The Guardian by the 'Department of Waste' boasting about its achievements over the last 13 years increasing waste in Government departments. What is funny is that the Grauniad just did not seem to notice it was a spoof.
The ad was actually placed by Conservative Campaign HQ. It is very funny, quoting a Government Minister 'Mr Robbin Ewe' and alongside the ad they produced a short video, fronted by this Minister.
Have a laugh at both poster and video, link here:

There is also a link on that page to the spoof Labour poster produced by the Guardian. That is also funny but without a serious message.
It is good to see a sense of humour in politics, may we have more of this.
Behind the humour there is a serious message though.

Very good Barry - funny too if it wasn't true, but sad because it is.

On the subject of inefficiency, I saw this in the news yesterday and thought it was a joke:
"The fox population has to be controlled. Every farmer will tell you that, and every farmer will tell you that the methods now being used - gassing, shooting, trapping and snaring, are very cruel. The case on animal welfare grounds for the hunting ban I've always thought was very weak."
Sadly I think DC was being serious. Personally I don't really care too much about the welfare of foxes as they are a problem. I just find it amazing that one of his concerns is to reinstate such a mindless activity.
Don't forget the BMW Greens:
This was seen on the folllowing vehicle:

I agree totally with DC, hunting is a far better and less inhumane way to control foxes than indesrciminate shooting.

Let's hope DC is a little more efficient in running government. 20 toffs on horseback with a pack of hounds to kill 1 fox.
This really does show his true mindset: to preserve the lifestyle and activities of the priviledged. He may be claim to be concerned with narrowing the wealth gap, and a fairer society, but this will always be at the expence of the working man and never those who are already 'alright'. All reasons why he won't get my vote...although sometimes I get confused and think he is a bit like me because he doesn't wear a tie at the weekend! (He's clever isn't he, down with da people).
As I said I'm not really concerned with the humane treatment of foxes, but I don't see why we want to preserve traditions where groups of Laura Ashley clad women shout "Kill it!" and "Dig it out" as a effective way of controlling the fox population.

Glad to see you acknowlegde Cameron will be running the Government DT1....
Interesting to see that you are heavily into Labour's old class warefare perpetuating irrelivant, out-dated and inaccurate stereotypes.
Is hare-coursing flat cap enough for you DT1? I would hope and expect that coursing will be made legal again as well just to show DC is not himself class prejudiced. Used to enjoy some coursing myself as a child with my father.

I hope not Howard, can't think of much worse for a way to treat dogs.

Quite like jugged hare, although it's been a while.
I think you've got me all wrong Barry, I don't listen to a political party to form my ideas. Tony Blair is just as bad as DC, especially now with his tax avoidance for his excessive wealth. DC will probably get in, perpetuating Blair's and Thatcher's legacy. Zero dialectic for my liking.
Maybe coursing hares will come back in aswell, I just hope DC will enjoy eating his foxes as much.
I quite like jugs too DT1. I wouldn't go hunting for them though.

You wouldn't go hunting for jugs, Sid? Even in the 70's as a teenager? I know I did
