I have just put on the UKIP page,this weekend I will be sending aemail to Lord Pearson asking to take up the case of saving the Port of Dover in the upper house of the lords, I feel that a act will be needed to sell the port off and I know he also feels that there should not be any sell of the port,No where in the Royal Charter does it give the right to the DHB or anybody to sell it off,the DHB was put in place for the running and upkeep of the port only. - 21 August 2010 09:0066437We should all support both the ferries and Eurotunnel. Goodness knows what Dover's roads would be like if all the traffic was coming our way! The fact is, the Port and Tunnel can live happily together and are both needed now and in the future. Yes, there will be times when one is doing better than the other. It appears that the tunnel is winning back HGV traffic at the moment with strong promotional activity which was always likely once there were back to full capacity following the fire.

I certainly don't think emails sent to Pearson - or anyone else come to that - are going to be looked at seriously. It has been decided by people who know what they are doing and that's that. Why do we have to poo poo any new ideas for this town, it can only be for the better surely.
