If the Church of England collapsed tomorrow Howard I would celebrate with deep joy. One down, loads to go. Let's not forget that plenty of non-religious groups and charities also look after the needy, raise cash for the hungry, offer care for the elderly and homeless, and so on. I know many find it bewildering but an act of kindness is NOT a "Christian act" and no church holds the monopoly on kindness the way they like to think they do. In fact any act of kindness perpetrated by any church is surely a questionable act because of its underlying agenda and belief system. An act of kindness by a non-religious group is more pure as there are no conditions, doctrines, or judgements involved. And, if my history serves me well, I believe the Church of England did most of their beheading before video was invented.
