from the telegraph.
Detectives found the two men outside her isolated country home in an east Devon village with a cache of weapons inside their car including swords, rope and a body bag.
The pair, who have not been named, also alleged to have had plans to the British soul singer's home and aerial photos of her rural property.
Police said the two men, aged 30 and 33, were arrested near the village, which cannot be identified for legal reasons, at 10am on Monday.
They were being questioned over the alleged conspiracy to "cause her some really serious harm".
They remain in police custody at a police station in Exeter on Wednesday. Up to 20 detectives from the major crime unit are involved in the inquiry

Police in Devon have arrested two music lovers for conspiring to prevent Joss Stone from releasing her next album and murdering another Motown classic.
The pair were apprehended after a vehicle was seen near the singer's home, suspiciously playing the original versions of several ironic songs which Stone had since covered and completely destroyed.
"They were in a car outside her house, listening intently and respectfully to the late Otis Redding's classic '(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay' ," one eye witness, James Hastings, revealed.
"I didn't think there was much wrong with that but then I realised that they were somehow resisting the urge to sing over it in a blatant attempt to ruin it or 'make the song their own' as Joss Stone would probably describe it."
"And when I saw that they didn't even join in for the whistling bit at the end, the alarm bells really began ringing, because I knew then that these men were music lovers, that they were out for revenge and that Joss Stone's next album was in grave danger."
Senior police sources have yet to reveal whether the album was on the premises when the incident occurred but have confirmed that the two suspects are indeed music lovers.
"They didn't fit the profile at first because they were from Manchester," Detective Inspector Steve Parker admitted, "and they just had the usual stuff that Mancunians have, like a few swords and body bags."
"But we then found them to be carrying plans a vast collection of Aretha Franklin LPs which were in pristine condition, as well as some seriously rare grooves from Sly and the Family Stone."
"I'm sure that evidence will see them imprisoned for a very long time," Parker added, "where they can hopefully do the decent thing with Pete Doherty instead."

Swords, rope and a body-bag! I wonder what a lawer will spin off. It will be interesting to see how this one is spun off, but I hope - if their was an evil intent - that the Police can find out more evidence, and then pin them.

Very well written Marek, it raised more than a chuckle or two

Wouldn't have seemed so funny though if they'd achieved what they were apparently intending to do. The pair are due in court today -

Crass comments on here in the extreme. The poor girl's life was under threat, by the looks of it. No laughing matter.
She's a good friend of a good friend of mine and I'd have thought better of you all, honestly.
I did cringe a bit, I have to say. It seems to have been a potentially dreadful incident, really scary.

Jokes are made about all types of situations and celebrities but nobody in their right mind takes them as a true reflections of one's feelings about a person or persons.
I'm afraid pop stars, politicians and footballers all have to take a bit of satirical stick at times but it doesn't mean that in any way do we condone any sort or wish any type of violence towards the individual.

I second that, we all crack a joke when 'celebs' are in the news, nothing meant in any shape or form. Satire is just another a part of english humour.
I share that, chaps - there is very little that we should not poke a bit of fun at. I just did cringe a wee bit.....!!

Andrew
Remember that even someone loves Ed Miliband but it didn't stop you posting these humourous comments
My local press sources tell me Mr Ed apparently swooped into the Deal Citizens Advice Bureau (no doubt fuming, still with furrowed brow intact, about the perfidious Tories and their nasty, nasty 'cuts'), having earlier inadvertently bollocksed up a dental appointment for one of Dover's finest, Phil Eyden.
He should have spoken to the hard-working volunteer bureau people in the Deal CAB building too while he was there. Or is that a bit too 'Big Society' for Milibore Minor? A happy and successful story of long-standing selfless volunteerism, absolutely essential to the Deal community, and extremely well-used? Nah, can't have that, can we, Ed. It's all about 'the cuts', innit?

I think the fact that Joss has family and friends in the Dover and Deal areas also merited a little more circumspection before the ill-judged open season on guffaws commenced.

I don't think Ed Miliband's visit to Deal CAB was life-threatening, though.
I don't need to be preached to about satire and the parameters of humour, either.

As a point of reference the article came from NewsThump.
I'm sorry but I think we are going to have to disagree on this one.

Joss Stone, as a celebrity, is fair game for satire and I found the spoof humourously written.
However I do think laughing at a kidnap attempt is in questionable taste. I happen to also be a friend of a friend of the young, Dover-produced lady. What if she has family in Dover who get to read this? I don't think they would be too impressed.
