22:4110455i never spotted that paul.
turned out that the reindeers were locked away, the elves got into a row and to top it all someone punched santa.
i do not think i have laughed so much in a long time.
there was a case in liverpool some years back when a santa from a store had a really bad day and adjourned to a licenced establishment in order to unwind.
inevitably some banter took place and it all ended up on the pavement outside with santa beating up two of the patrons of the aforesaid public house.
unfortunately a group of primary school children with teachers happened to pass at the time that the police arrived
when santa was dragged kicking and screaming into the van.
the top man later made a great statement along the lines of "children have been taken away for counselling".

20:4110506i heard on the news that another one closed today.
they wanted £25 admission with little to offer, so staffordshire county council put a block on it.

20:2110584I never take my kids to see santa, nor do I get them to write christmas lists that way I never know what they want (unless they tell me) and can cheerfully buy them nice stuff in my price range. They don't argue on Christmas day so everyone's happy.
It's not the man in my life, its the life in my man!!

While I to feel xmas is expensive, children do like to see santa when they are young.
But these days we are living i that kind of society that puts pressure on parents to provide.

23:5710594Acctually, the first time our eldest saw Santa she burst into tears and hid her face in my chest. The others have seen me putting on the suit for a pre-school appearance so they are not fooled.

00:0210596I do understand, it is one of lifes dilema's
but as iv said xmas has got out of control, and the meaning has gone.
And the presure of peers has increased .

06:0510617Well I can only say that in our household Santa still firmly exists for our 8 yr old daughter regardless of peer pressure.More importantly the spirit of Santa lives in our hearts as we make a special effort each year to enter into the christmas spirit. She loves wrapping up presents for some of the old folk she meets through the wifes work or at the Catholic Club. She loves writing out her own cards for friends and relatives and choosing small presents for her teachers. We feel sorry for kids that don't believe in Father Christmas...you have a long time being old and miserable and only a few precious years as a child so why not help to make them enjoyable as possible as my parents did for me and my siblings. In closing we never spend more than £100 in total on Natascha's presents as her Christmas list to Santa is made up from cuttings extracted from various brochures Argos Woolies M&S etc and she always points Santa towards the cheapest model.Thats my girl!

11:2610638While ours my have doubts about Santa, to them the Tooth Fairy is very real and provides enough late nights waiting for them to go to sleep in order to switch the tooth for cash.
