Sorry to put this in as a new post, I did go back and found my letter to the Queen on the sell of the port, but it has been closed (I do not know why) so I have open a new one on a letter A letter I got back today.

I would just like to say that my letter to the Queen did work as you will read.

From the Dept for Transport, Ellen Duffy,Ports Division.

    Dear Mr Matcham

Sale of the port of Dover.

Thank you for your letter of 27th May to the HM the Queen about the Port of Dover,s application for a transfer scheme that would allow it to privatise the port.

This letter has been passed by Her Majesty,s staff of State for Transport, Rt Hon Philip Hammond. I have been asked to reply.

In January, Dover Harbour Board submitted proposals for a voluntary "transfer scheme"under the ports Act 1991that would ,if approved by the Secretary of State, enable the Board to attract private investment to allow it to develop additional capacity for the P ort of Dover through privatisation or sale.

Before the sale can proceed, the Secretary of State has to decide whether or not to approve the transfer scheme.

There was a 42-day period for written representations to be made to the Secretary of State.

atahis ended on the 25th of March, however, your letter abnd its contents will be included in those representations the Secretary of State considers before making his decision.

    Yours sincerely Ellen Duffy.

I have nothing to add to this but to say it was not a waste of time and the letter did work just hope alot more of the public also send letters , but I do not think so.
