Im not sure why I started this thread as Im not an expert having never seen the programme. But once again its been headlining the news. It seems lovable old hoofer John Sergeant, one time newshound, has called it a day due to him being too popular. Jeez we could all do with a bit of that affliction. He was winning on popularity alone which was miffing the judges and the other competitors. The viewing nation is gutted though and is demanding its license fee back etc etc.
But all is not lost. I thought the original statement from Peter Mandelson that he wanted to do it was a bit tongue in cheek..but NO not a bit of it. This story has legs. He wants to do it for real. So just think...if he becomes as popular as John Sergeant he could even end up as Prime Minister.
