Two of our ward councillors have requested DDC to remove the graffiti above and also some in Approach Road Maxton but I have doubts that they would have the authority to do this as it is on privately owned buildings. Does anyone know more on the subject?

I've heard that the owners of the vacant land have dropped their development plans and are putting it up for auction.

Despite all the talk no sign of it being cleaned up or painted over.

Oh well the daubings are still there and the prime vacant plot opposite is still a dumping ground 20 odd years on.

The former Boston guest house next door is not letting the side down.

I will certainly keep on to DDC I'm now taking a different route asking DDC for the landlords name/address to contact him direct
The Ex Boston guest house, they should all be kicked out, rats will fester there how the hell does the landlord put up with it or the owners of the hoardings close by

Waste services at DDC do an excellent job normally, fly tipping I report is usually removed within 24 hours. When the rubbish is on private land they are unable to do anything about it other than pressure the landowners.

At least there are no badger setts he can destroy there, notice two variations have been made to application and KCC are concerned about the reduced size of parking spaces and turning room.

The graffiti has finally gone but I don't know whether the property owner or DDC cleaned it off.

The site got cleared but planning permission was refused so back to square one, I have been told the owner has put it back up for auction.

Another year passes and our local dumping point is unchanged, must be at least twenty years now.

From DDC planning site.
18/00468 Erection of 2/3 storey buildings incorporating 17no. self-contained flats, vehicle access and parking
Land Adjoining 1, Malvern Road, Dover, CT17 9RF
Same individual who put in an application last year then withdrew it.

Having reviewed the application it is an improvement over previous applications, but there are some strange layouts internally especially the way in which a third bedroom has been squeezed in in a number of the flats. Sadly, I suspect even if approved this will not be built as the developers consultants have indicated the development is marginal in terms of profit, so expect the site to appear on the market for a significant premium over the £225k that is was purchased for.

Rejoice there is a sign at the front of site stating that development will start soon, must have only just got planning permission as there is nothing on DDC site to say it has been passed.

Good to see a local business involved but doesn't look much in the way of affordable housing.
