Invites are irrelevant Keith, despite what some would have you believe. Both services were open to the public and weren't the preserve of public servants and hangers on.

4 September 2013 16:34243405Express carried a couple of inches (sorry, about 5cm) on page 5. Those who passed on the day all enquired as to what was happening.
The mechanical road sweeper was instructed to make a special effort with the road and pavement although wasn't told why. When informed as to what was happening he offered to jet wash the statue! We had beaten him to it though.
