well done to you vic, tell us more about your past, we would love to hear it.
Dave
I'd tell you a bit about my past but don't want to be blocked from the website
Vic I have gone back to your original post regarding Morrisons. Page 26 of the open letters page to be exact, and I can find absolutly nowhere where anyone has said that you did not know what you were talking about on nor where anyone said anything bad about you in relation to it.
Please don't accuse people of having been nasty when I can see no indication of anything of the sort regarding Morrisons coming to Dover.
Regards Mandie

Mr Matcham
Are you aware that typing in capital letters is considered as shouting and therefore very rude?
I think if the story about Morrisons is true (which coming from you I doubt) it will be announced in the proper way by either Paul Watkins or a proper councillor - not you.
As Mandie has pointed out, no-one called you a liar, but you are now lying by saying they did!
You do your credability no good at all by these unpunctuated rantings.
Finally, if any supermarket was to take over the B&Q site where exactly would their customers park? The present carpark is already shared by four stores apart from B&Q, so not a lot of room left for a supermarket of any size.

Vic,
Did you in any of your important positions in this town have anything to do with Morrisons locating here? If so, you deserve due credit. If not, well, I'll leave others to determine the value of your posturing. (Sorry, typo there, I meant posting).
Morrisons is a decent supermarket. Well done for getting them to come to the town, if this indeed comes to fruition.
Hopefully this will have a positive spin-off effect as far as precipitating the demolition of the ever-disgraceful Charlton Centre and its attendant eyesores, and eventually properly linking up the Charlton Green shopping area with the rest of the town again.
Here's hoping, anyway.
Cheers,

Certainly Morrisons are talking & an advert for a general manager for Dover store has apparently been sighted.
Support the views on Charlton Centre [personal opinion].

Oh heaven help us. I expect Vic will be applying for the Job
Got to admit though. I do like Morrisons

Am I the only person that read in this weeks local rags that a spokesperson for morrissons is quoted as saying that morrissons have no plans at present to open a store in dover on the B&Q site or anywhere else.Or was I just daydreaming as usual?

Marek you did indeed read that in The Mercury...Mercury quell the Morrison rumour.Thats a slight play on their headline..but yes Morrisons deny all knowledge but they may just be keeping their card close to their chest, as if the rumours are true the big players may just all be jockeying for position.

I have been told by a member of staff at B&Qs that they are not closing the town centre branch the owners of the site Nettos will not permit Morrisons to rent the site.

Dover Mercury page 9
Article headlined 'Morrisons moves to quell store rumours'
The report states inter alia ".... a major supermarket chain says it has no plans at the moment to open a store in Dover..."
A £5 to a charity of your choosing Vic if Morrisons open a store say within the next 12-18 months.

VIC seems to know more than morrisons themselves
If Morrisons have NO plans at present, and that was their words. I don't see how within the next 12 months they will be here.
Where did you get your info Vic? just out of curiosity that's all

I was told the same as Guzzler from a Nettos employee. Also, as I pointed out before, that carpark is very small for a major supermarket, specially as they would have to share it with Nettos, The pet shop, Farm Fresh foods and Poundstretchers. It wouldn't do a lot for the trade of Nettos and Farmfresh foods to have them there either so I can understand why they said no.
So now Mr Matcham is saying he knows more than B&Q, Nettos, The Dover Mercury and even Morrisons themselves .................
