This is like asking the bank robbers to take charge of security of the bank!!
I find it a good rule in life to never trust anyone whose surname is slang for toilet.

The Karzi has a long and honourable history - going back to Carry on up the Kyber.......

Some further thoughts on the above.
the present Karzi does not look much like his illustrious ancestor who resembled Kenneth Williams, mind you if he shaved off that beard....
As for solving the Afghanistan problem, perhaps herin lies the answer, to reform that old Scottish Regiment, the 1st Foot and Mouth and send them into action wearing their kilts. That will sort them out.... There you are, exactly the kind of new defence thinking that can make all the difference in war

I think it is time to get out, already said they will pull out by 2014,so why not now and save lifes,we all know that when the Brits and the USA do go,it will go back to what it was ,they have been like it for 100s of years and anything we do will not last.Get the army out of there now.

the running joke in the film was that kenneth williams was so powerful that he had people to do everything for him.
joan sims tries to seduce him, he just wrinkles his face in disgust and reminds her that someone else would do it for him.

Infamy, infamy, they got it infamy....
ohhh, that was Carry on Cleo....but who cares, a carry on is a carry on....
By the way - all 30 films (the real Carry Ons, not including the Columbus rubbish) plus the Carry on tv series at on sale from Amazon for about £40 if anyone is interested in these comedy classics.

The Scottish Regiments, Barry, are not going to march over any Kyber pass to fight the Afghans. They play bagpipes and beat drums, march for Britaania Empress, hobnailed boots iron-shod, the Union jack Flying High. Ruck-sack on back, mess-cans clashing, spare bayonet at the hip, helmet on head, rifles and bayonets levelled. Britannia's Massed Regiments of the British Isles!

Alexander you miss the point of what we were saying. Sit down and watch a DVD of Carry on up the Kyber and you will find out all about Afghanistan

an excellent film from the historical perspective.
the only problem for me was that the tribal leader looked like bernard bresslaw wearing a false beard.
sorry to be cynical.
Love the Carry Ons (as you say, the proper ones!) Alexander - I will rummage about and find my spare sense of humour (I think I left it under the cat) and send it to you asap.
PS - that was a joke.

You are quite right Howard.
Indeed it is one of the finest docu-dramas of the Victorian Afghan wars ever produced, acclaimed for its examination of the phsychological warfare conducted against the Afghanis by the 1st Foot and Mouth.

and of course the philosophical gems that emanated.
my favourite was "the british are domestos - clean round the bend".
Tiffin, anyone?
Can you still buy the Tiffin choccie bar?

Bern, don't under-estimate the Scottish Regiments! When they are heard from the distance, it's already too late! bagpipes sounding, drums rolling! This is no joke!
