Went out about half 9 and the said individual was leaning against the front wall of the house 3 doors from me. Stood out like a sore thumb as there was nobody else other than her and me in the street and there are no shops or pubs close by.

And another neighbour has had garden tools taken...and 2 cars keyed! KEEP YOU EYES PEELED AND LOCK EVERYTHING UP THERE IS A KNOW THEIF NEAR BYE"

I think this must be the skinny ugly old bag that scrounges for money in Morrisons car park. She has been seen in Tower hamlets quite a bit recently.

That is the one, apparently goes by the name of Joanne but another name has also been mentioned. There seems to be quite a vendetta against her by some of Dover's well meaning verbal activists.

The lady who frequents the town centre, often with another "homeless" person outside Costa, accosted me the other day. I was at the Halifax cashpoint. She saw me tucking some £20 notes (only a couple I'm a pensioner) in my wallet. She came up and asked for some change for a cup of tea.
I said that I had no change whereupon she pulled out a tenner and fiver from her pocket and said make it a fiver and I'll give you these for a twenty!
I wished her good day and left with my money intact. From what she said I can only judge that she wasn't pleased.

You have obviously not seen her or her picture, that is an accurate description of someone who is known to target the elderly and also the vulnerable.

The above statement is totally inaccurate.

Christine you are obviously not in the same Facebook group as myself, there are loads of posts about her everyday, therefore my comment is accurate.

Not a good idea, PC Plod has already made it clear that they took a dim view of her photo being plastered all around town. Having said that I have no idea why they have not taken action so far, not difficult to work out where she lives and where she plies her trade.

Howard, from what I have read nobody has mentioned "her trade" only her thieving and her accosting people asking for money.

I thought that was her trade Jan, I doubt she is a qualified electrician or plumber.

I've just been threatened with violence by one of the growing number of people in this town who apparently can't budget efficiently.
Apparently I looked at him in a funny way after twice saying "no" to his (already aggressive) request for 30p.
I asked said gentleman whether he thought that getting himself arrested was a good idea. The verbals escalated quickly (I don't take well to being threatened), so I thought it prudent to slowly retreat back into the hostelry from whence I came.
His parting shot was to call me a mug.
Well, I've got 30p and you haven't mate. Who's the mug in this scenario exactly?
I'm still shaking and not sure which I'm more angry about at the moment. The threats of violence getting my adrenaline coursing and ruining the nice vibe I was previously having, or the glaringly obvious, in your face, growing homelessness/begging problem in this town/country.
