there is normally a meet up in december arranged by paul and the posh couple, this is normally the highlight of the social calendar.
last year it was at chapter 88, great evening massive turnout, after what we all ate paul had to survive on a pot noodle a day for 6 months to pay for it.

07:5267713Yes indeed its true we went somewhat over budget on the last one but fortunately I like Pot Noodle..

It was held in Jessies Bar on the mezzanine floor immediately overlooking the diners below in Chapter Eight, although all part of Chapter Eight. But it was a good one...pictures from it can still be found in the All Recent Features archive on page 8. We will indeed be doing another one this year...should be good looking forward to it already, even though its only august. it will be a recession buster..(says he hopefully)
Not sure of the venue yet but Jeanette at the White Horse has already got in with an offer...sharp as a tack that one lol!

15:5667771Having been fondled by Mrs Precious and Mrs Clements is enough to put off anyone going to these events, and they want me to arrange a Women's Night, well I said I will check to see what night Howard is available!
They said they want real men so that counts me out and Posh Barry so it has got to be Keith and Howard, especially as I understand one of them is into Policemen style uniforms, but I am sworn not to tell.....................................ok.......Mel

18:1167804I won't be going until such time as Dover Forum regains some decency. At the moment the last thing I feel like doing is socialising with some of the people on here. Duplicity I can do without.

18:1867811isn't that a bit over dramatic andy?

18:3467821Well what a post Andy. Being new here and knowing nothing of your past disagreements your post comes over as being rather childish.
I think the forum is full of very nice people who have an occasional difference of opinion that is all.
There has been no indecency on here which is a great shame

18:4667828The truth always hurts Howie. The duplicity would be on my part if I were to willingly partake of social intercourse with people I know to have stabbed me in the back in the past few weeks.
I'll let Jan decide whether I should go out drinking with people, one of whom called me a "Xenophobic Tw*t" on this forum, knowing full well how I would react, and then deleting his/her own words before anyone who could do anything about it saw it. If I'm supposed to be pleasant to that kind of moron, then I'm quite happy to be labelled 'childish' although I prefer to call it 'principled'.
Since, as you say, you know nothing of past disagreements, wouldn't it be more prudent to find out the full facts before giving us the benefit of your opinion?

18:5367831No.
You complained about the words used in another thread, thereby giving your opinion there. I was giving my opinion of your words on this thread that is all.
As you seem to be rather touchy I will try to refrain from replying to any comment you make, but no promises.

I apologise if the strength of my feelings give Howard the feeling that this thread needs closing; I'm of the opinion that things should be thrashed out rather than swept under the carpet, however I can see that Paul might be getting hot under the collar with me if I continue in this vein, so I shall draw a line under this with a full and humble apology. At least I've been given the opportunity to explain why I will not be going out with people who really don't me around. I'm happy to oblige them.
