Ah jeez well done with all that Ed...I knew you'd know..as I was wondering what was going on, because for the past few days Ive seen the lights and bunting on the ships. Gosh I was doing this forum, or an earlier version of it before Norfolkline, so I would have thought someone would have put me out to graze well before now..aaarrrrgh!!!

The years are flying by and no mistake.
But yes it is a great success story for Norfolkline. They started with the smaller flat black ships called Northern Merchant and some others of similar name. Looks like that very one has been regurgitated for use by LDLines now on the Boulogne route, so obviously they are solid workhorses, but then Norfolkline went glamorous with the current fleet in sky blue colours. I remember the day the first of those came. The tugboats greeted them with traditional water salute etc. I did have photos one time but I think they were among some of my archive lost. But Norfolkline did very well to squeeze an opening for themselves against the mighty P&O and Seafrance who seemed to have the channel sown up at the time.
