Indeed it isn't just Dover and that link provides information what should be done to help our as well as other Towns.
As an individual, I have written a paper with 24 areas of responsibility, but as an individual, I cannot achieve anything.
The British Retail Consortium, have many more resources than I do, but it is good to see that they have taken up many of my ideas !!
Too many pages to print off, but a useful piece for reference.

i read tonight that eastbourne council have a similar scheme to ours about works of art adorning derelict shops.
they will act within 10 days of receieving a complaint from a memeber of the public.
no doubt it becomes complicated if they receive no response from the landlord.

Some Landlords do not reply at any letters and really don't care about the state of their shop building, or the affect it is having, on the Town it is in.
Some Towns have had shops tidied up and sent the invoice to the Landlord, some have had co-operation from the Landlord, but the biggest and most important part, is having the will to start the ball rolling and no one it seems - in Dover, is willing or able to start that ball rolling.

Eastbourne can and do do it..................Come on, Dover!!! We already have the willing ones who have painted up the London road, and done it beautifully.
