That picture used in the Dubris Column today is mine and it is used without permission. In actual fact the picture was lifted/pinched off this website by person or persons unknown, but not only that, someone then added a Spin Game Show thing to the front of it. So you could say it was a double whammy of horrors from my point of view!

Yes Paul, I remember you taking that picture at the boat race, didn't remember the "Spin Me" though!

nice bit of plagiarism there, but i did laugh at the "spin the wheel" logo on our ken.
last i heard his application to the taleban had been rejected.

I think even the Taleban would be "Beyond Our Ken" Howard, mind you he was in the SAS so I wouldn't mess with him too much!
I must admit that I have dabbled in all shades of mainstream politics but I have seen sense and risen above them all.
Yes Kathy, coming back to the thread you really should have checked your source. As I told you on Friday, that other info you queried with me was duff.

The person who sent the pic is usually very reliable and it is quite unusual for someone to send a picture that doesn't belong to them (I am trying to think of another instance when it has happened to me and I can't). I do check info, as you know because I called you regarding the locks, and I also spoke to the man who was supposed to have changed them just to double check. He confirmed it was only a threat, although he did mention one or two other things that happened in the 'dispute' so I would say my info was exaggerated rather than completely duff but when people tell you things it is always from one viewpoint and sometimes there is a motive so you do have to ask anyone else involved to get a rounded story.
Ahhhh......hidden agendas - the stuff of politics.......

Thanks Kathy, I accept that what you heard was exaggerated rather than duff. Yes, you did check with both parties. As I said, it was down to interpretion of a piece of paper. In all matters things do get blown out of all proportion.
As for hidden agendas and politics Bern, me? never.

i never knew ken was in the SAS, i was terrified of him when he was a milkman.
one wrong word and a crate of semi skimmed through my front window.
being serious though, i hope that when he served with the hereford based regiment he did not alternate with the republican guard of saddam.

Howard, not sure if Ken was in the SAS,the joke was SAS stood for Saturday and Sunday, although someone used to laugh when that came out they said he was in the pay corp, but i am not 100%.

and a live one john.
after reading about our stuart changing parties again, i have invented a board game, should be available for the christmas market.
their will be 4 chairs, 3 with red hot pokers sticking out.
stuart, victor and ken will have to dance around until the music ceases.
they will then grab a chair.
i can safely guarantee that the majority will still be dancing afterwards.
netto have already put in an order.

My gawd this is an old thread Paul..how did you find it!!
Glad you were able to sort it out. Gosh had forgotten about my picture in the Dubris column, but all water under the bridge now. It was a mistake without any intention. But in general terms it is wrong ( and illegal) in my view for others to make use of your work, which sometimes are pictures or information achieved in difficult circumstances.

It was refreshing to see a reporter apologising in the earlier posts though.

The Papers are generally quite good about the usage of our pictures but our own DTC have used Doverforum pictures without permission in the past which is not on!!!
