I thought that funding was available and the thing holding it up was finding a suitable site.

Mrs List you have a very good point there young need a place to play with their mums with them or we are going back a 100years to when they were kicking a ball up and down the streets and none of us want to see that.
We are seeing yet again cllrs and officers working against the public of a area that they themselves do not live in so do not care.
Its a good thing I am standing down at the end of the year I do not like what I am seeing or reading at this time and cannot help in anyway.

#2 Howard, you are correct. There will be funding available for the identified site.

I am glad to hear that but why was that not put in place first so they had some where to play.?

Find the site, the money is available. Lots of subterfuge with former pub sites being thrown into the mix after the future use became known. It was not a DDC site (the pub).

Mr Watkins sir as you well know Acliffe has open fields all around it.
Please tell me you are not saying you cannot find a site for one small play area there or even two.
If that be the case the other one should have been done up and left there.

See Mr Watkins has sighed out so will have to wait to see what he comes back with.

I think you will have to ask the local councillors , both Town & District. My understanding was that the equipment on the former site was becoming unsafe & for whatever reason the previous site was not suitable to meet today's requirements. I think you need to look at the requirements before making judgements on suitability. The biggest obstacle standing in the way is insurance coverage.

Thank you for getting back but read my post again what I said is the play equipment should have been updated and site made safe.
Sorry but you are ducking and diving and that is not helping.
You know like the rest of us that is what should have been done, you have already said there is funding in the pot to do that.

I think we are going around in circles yet again. You have what I believe to be the facts. If a suitable site was to be found then we are off. I don't do hypotheses. It's with the locals.

Sorry but I look at that as ducking and diving so will the public of Acliffe.
It should not have happen in the first place so why not just say that .
We all get it wrong at times the public will respect you more for just telling them that.
And try to put it right no big deal is it?
I must go out now already late but I look forward to reading what is wrote when I get back thank you.

As PaulW says, it's not simply a matter of it would be nice to have this and it would be nice to have it there.
Planning and Design for Outdoor Play - yours for £95, or maybe DDC have a copy for referring to.
Lydden has exactly the same problem and has been receiving support from DDC officers in finding a site and equipment, better to talk to them than moan about them online.
