Great to be involved with the event and to sing to Dover again in Pencester, good natured crowd and FANTASTIC weather.
Had to rush off sharpish to take wifey to William Harvey Hospital for her appointment otherwise I would have stayed to enjoy 'User Friendly' and 'Elvis' and to meet and greet you all.
Cadets put on a good show with their marching band - was a shame to have to go as it was getting into the swing.
Pleased to see many familiar faces and a BIG THANK YOU to the folks who danced in the HOT sun.
Thanks boss for putting up the photo on the home page - greased lightning..

Thanks Richard for coming and supporting us, it was great to have you there, at 5 o'clock there still must have been a couple of hundred people around, not wanting it to finish, I'm like a beetroot, but its all worthwhile to see so many enjoying themselves.
Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us, and also a great thank you for our helpers

A great day - well done Sheila and Cheryle.
Great to see you singing again Richard - Jean and I really enjoyed it and so obviously, did every one else.
The weather was perfect too.
Not so many stalls as last year , but those that were there were good ones: Kent Air Ambulance; Priory Forum; White Cliffs Artist Guild; great local artists - they were also making paper-boats for today's race (they are already working on their next shop-front); Fair-Trade and another I can't remember (sorry).

Hi everyone
I would like to know if anyone was in town the weekend of this event, and if they were could they hear the music, it seems that it was to loud, and could be heard at Monestry Avenue, we did monitor this event, I myself sat outside game for an hour giving out leaflets and I could not hear the music, it is a shame when one trys their best to give the community something to enjoy, and you get some killjoys that do not want to enjoy anything, I'm sure the noise of the fun is far more greater than what we made, and that is on for 10 days

Sheila i was there for a lot of the day, people in the park were able to converse at normal levels. Therefore the music was not too loud, i don't know of the location of monastery avenue i suspect they heard music from another source. WELL DONE TOO ALL.

there will always be a few grumpy so and so's, maybe the wind was in the direction of monastery avenue.
they are very high up there and not far from pencester gardens.
a few years back i was walking along the heights close to townwall street and music from the multicultural festival was very clear, and hour or so later i was in market square where the music was and it was not that loud.
besides, even if it had been a bit loud, it all finished by tea time.

Thamks for this guys, would you mind if I copy and paste these comments to the council, so that we can do the same sort of thing again next year. Monestry Avenue is where the old Castlemount School used to be

I was in Pencester at about 2pm. so must have missed BuddyG and the Cadet marching band. I sat on the benches in the centre of the park and there was a group on the bandstand packing up their gear, there was some head banging music on the loudspeaker system whilst they were doing this. It wasn't over loud but it wasn't my scene so I took a walk to the Market square. I didn't hear anything there except the sound of Wimbledon on the telly.

Sheila, I live next to Monastery Ave and yes I could hear the music load and clear even inside my house. We are up on the hill and yes as Howard said the wind was blowing up this direction but I for one loved it. It was great to hear the music travelling up the dizzy heights of the hill. I had a great time singing along and enjoyed every moment, no complaints from me

Here is another picture of that 'noisy' performer BuddyG in action...all great stuff Buddy! In the Park itself the sound was just absoloutely right, no problem at all. Perhaps sometimes these things reverberate so that residents around the town get a sort of echo sound, but on the face of it..it felt fine. I couldnt see it done any other way. The main thing for residents to rememebr is that it doesnt happen very often so we can live with a bit of sound intrusion. I know when there is music down along the seafront some people complain...so its true indeed, people do complain.

I was in London Road River yesterday eating strawberries and you could hear the sound of River Fete .If the event is held in the valley the noise floats up over the hills .
I heard that Buddg G chap it was loud sitting at the bus stop ,there Pencester Road is hardly the place to be .
